The rise of online bookings has increased enormously over the years. They changed booking habits almost entirely. In Europe, 39% of bookings will be made online by 2017, traditional front desks are on their way out from hotels. In the USA, 44% of bookings will be made online by 2017, a rise of 2%. In almost every sphere of business, mobile is rapidly becoming king, where hotel industry is no different. Some statistics show that while only less than 10% of bookings are currently made on mobile devices. By 2018, that figure will stand at more than 30% bookings.
Although hotels are generally becoming savvier, to drive more in business with websites. The rise of online travel agents will continue over the coming years. The hotels must find the effective mix of direct and indirect channels to meet the expectation of the tech-savvy nature. Since tourism report shows that tourism industry set to grow, so it automatically increases the hotel markets. Budget hotels are a strong business, so the trend set to grow further. As for saving of people increases, the budget hotel will increase.

Chain hotels are the big winners over the past years. It is true that brands and big groups can perform better over the coming years too. While the independent hotelier has many tools than ever before, the money right now is in brands.
